Second Saturdays Art Walk in Long Beach [May 2011]


Second Saturdays in Long Beach: Art Walk in the East Village Arts District 

 

Every second Saturday of the month from 4-10pm, the streets of the East Village Arts District in Long Beach becomes a center for art, music, food, and community.  The Art Walk takes place around the streets of Ocean Blvd., Linden Ave, First Street, Broadway and Elm. Linden Avenue is closed to traffic and transformed into a street art fair by local artists.

Two stages are dedicated to street performances and live music. Local art galleries and retail businesses such as gift shops, boutiques, restaurants and coffee shops stay open until late evening. The art walk is free and everyone is welcome.

Got art?  Enter your art in the monthy contest: One piece of art work will be declared the Long Beach Masterpiece of the month and win a cash prize!

New at the art walk, HELLADA presents The Second Saturdays Art Walk Fashion Show!
Every art walk at 9:30pm, local fashion stores will show their best!  Live models, music and fun!

Second Saturdays Gallery Nights in NELA [April 2011]



NELAart Second Saturday Gallery Night is a free self-guided tour of the galleries, non-profits
and artist-run project spaces located in Northeast Los Angeles (NELA). NELA has a tradition in the
arts that dates back to the early 1900s when the USC College of Fine Arts was located in Highland
Park and characters like Charles Lummis and Antonio Corsi were living in the area. The tradition
continues with new spaces opening regularly. NELA is now one of L.A.'s most exciting destinations to
view contemporary art.
